Milk thistle (Silybum marianum)

Milk thistle has been used to treat liver disorders for more than 2,000 years. It’s most often used for liver complaints. The active substance in milk thistle is silymarin.

N-acetyl Cysteine

Cysteine is a semi-essential amino acid.  Consuming adequate cysteine and NAC is seen as important for a variety of health reasons including replenishing the most powerful antioxidant in your body, glutathione.

Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L., leaf)

Artichoke leaf has antioxidant properties. Studies suggest that it may protect the liver. Research done in animals indicate that it may help liver cells regenerate.

Choline

Choline plays an important role in the human body, in particular for the maintenance of normal liver function. One of the major benefits of choline is its role in keeping the liver free from harmful toxic buildups.

Greater Burdock (Arctium lappa L., )

Burdock root is a vegetable native to Northern Asia and Europe. Burdock root has been used for centuries in holistic medicine to treat a variety of different conditions.

Garlic (Allium sativum L.)

Selenium

An important trace mineral found naturally in the soil and in some foods is selenium. Selenium has numerous health benefits. It’s required for the body to form both glutathione peroxidase and thioredoxin reductase. These two enzymes are both needed to indirectly reduce certain oxidized molecules. Because oxidation is linked to liver damage, antioxidants such as selenium are vital for preserving liver tissue.
